Author: The Beard Struggle

With the popularity of beards continuing to grow (pun absolutely intended!) each day, more and more gents are choosing to throw in the towel of the daily shaving grind in favour of growing out and sporting some form of facial hair. But what lays ahead for you new guys? Let's give you a few pointers that'll make your life a little easier if you choose to follow them...
You've heard of that old saying 'Rome wasn't built in a day!' right? Well, the same goes for you and your soon to be beard! You're going to experience days where you might feel like an extra from The Planet Of The Apes, as your stubble will itch like crazy and might not be all that pretty to look at either. But don't sweat it, as there are a few things you can do to help.
Keeping your skin dirt free by washing frequently and well hydrated with a premium beard oil and/or balm will minimise that dreadful itch, granted it's almost impossible to be completely rid of it, but thankfully this stage doesn't last for too long, and before you know it it'll be a thing of the past.
It's very important to start practicing the basics of beard care on a regular basis. As I always suggest to others it's never too early to start a healthy grooming routine. Combing your beard will soon become as equally important to you as cleaning it is. So the sooner you start the easier to transition into your new routine it will become.
Make sure when you choose your first beard comb it is something that will be suitable for the job at hand. If you pick up a standard comb you'll often find that they tend to snag your beard rather than help detangle. So, we suggest you use a wide toothed comb, or better still why not give our 'TBS' beard combs a try? This might sound a little like a stupid, yet rather obvious suggestion, but let it grow! Your beard certainly knows how to grow out with little to no input needed from you or any lotions or potions in the process. Yes, there are things that you can do to make the transition simpler, but most beards grow just fine without. So my biggest piece of advice would be is to sight tight, relax and get ready for your furry face to flourish.
