We built our own search for all four stores. Typos, other languages, questions, sold-out products, member-only items and blog posts — here's what changed for you.

We built our own search. Here's what changed.

You type a word. You expect the right product.
If it doesn't show up, you assume we don't sell it.

For years our search only worked when you typed exactly the right words. A typo, another language, a question instead of a product name — and you got nothing.

So we built our own search engine and switched all four stores to it — US, Canada, UK and EU. Here's what changed for you.

Typos are fine

"beard blam", "beadrbalm", "staightner" — you still land on the right product. Glued-together words, misspellings, wrong endings: the search figures out what you meant.

Search in your language

Type "Bartöl" or "мыло" and you get beard oil and soap. The search knows the German, French, Dutch and Danish names for our products, and translates most other languages on the spot.

Ask it a question

"How do I stop my beard from itching" brings up Beard Cream. You don't need to know what a product is called — just say what you need.

Never an empty page

If nothing matches, the search finds the closest thing it can — and if there really is nothing, it shows you a few products you'd probably like instead.

Honest about stock

Sold-out products don't vanish and aren't dressed up as available. A sold-out Beard Butter is still the answer to "beard butter" — shown as sold out, with the in-stock options next to it.

Signed in? Search knows it

Member-only products appear only when you're signed in. And your own history counts: if you buy oils, oils win the close calls; a product you've favorited gets a small lift. It's a nudge, never a filter — nothing is hidden from you because of it.

Blog posts, right in the results

Search now finds our guides too. Type "how to fix a patchy beard" and the right article shows up under the products.

And your privacy

The search engine runs on our own systems — no outside search company reads what you type. It never sees your email; when you're signed in it only gets a scrambled ID that can't be turned back into you.

It's fast, it's ours, and we can fix it the same day when it gets something wrong.

Question of the Week:
What have you searched for that didn't find what you meant? Drop the exact words you typed in the comments — every miss you report gets looked at.
