4 BEARD GROOMING TIPS EVERY BEARDSMEN SHOULD FOLLOW

by Fran O'Reilly May 03, 2017 0 Comments

Every now and again we like to hit the 'refresh' button here at 'The Beard Struggle', as continue to provide our marvelous readers with the very best tips, tricks and pointers on all things beard. Today is one of those days, as we discuss 4 Beard Grooming Tips Every Beardsmen Should Follow...

WASH THOSE FACE WHISKERS AND EXFOLIATE!

This might seem like a rather obvious pointer, but keeping that furry face of yours clean, fresh and exfoliated can only help keep your growing game strong.

Yes, I know, the word 'exfoliate' does not sound all too 'manly' or that 'macho' in any way, shape or form. But us gents can certainly benefit from following a great skin care regime.

Dead, flaky skin quickly forms into dandruff, yes, this also happens within facial hair too, so keeping things nice and fresh will help lower the amount of face skin flakes created hiding below the surface. But always remember the key rules I heavily stress to all, ONLY USE BEARD WASH AND CONDITIONERS! Trust us, your face will thank you for doing so.

MORE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO BEARD CARE PRODUCTS!

I know, we have all been there. Your new beard care range package you have been patiently waiting for over the past couple have weeks has just arrived, and you want to burst right in and try out all the new and exciting scents, smells and textures all at once. But just remember, it is very possible to apply too much of a good thing.

Yes, our 'TBS' range can be used simultaneously, and many of or loyal Brothers choose to do so, but it is not necessary. A generous splash of our day tonic and balm will see that your face fuzz has all the protection it needs for the busy day ahead, come rain or shine.

If you have rushed your usual morning routine and have applied more product than is needed you'll soon begin to notice that this is the case, usually by the heavy, uncomfortable feeling it will create.

When anyone asks me for solid grooming advice I am consistent when I say apply a little product at a time, as it is far easier to apply a little and top up as needed than it is to try and remove a product overload from your whiskers. Just a thought to keep in mind, Brother.

KEEP THAT FACE FUR IN SHAPE WITH A STURDY COMB EVERY NOW AND AGAIN!

So, you wake up one morning and your face forest is matted, tangled and a damn right mess, but how does one tackle such problems? Easy! with a trusty beard comb and a boar bristle brush is how!

As tempting as it might be to grab your wives, daughters, mothers, great late grandfather's late cousin's hair brush/comb and begin detangling those knots, hold your horses! As you might be causing yourself an unintentional mischief in doing so.

Seek out a beard comb that was smartly crafted with your beard in mind. Usually handmade from a suitable wood, that will not needlessly snag or pull out any loosening hairs, but instead detangle them with comfortable ease.

Another piece of kit I will recommend to any beardsmen would be a trusty boar bristle brush, smartly crafted to tame down even the bushiest of fluffy faces. Mine is about as wild as they grow, yet my new, reliable 'TBS Viking Savage' brush serves the purpose perfectly each and every time without fail.
